A Rose

A single, solitary rose
With every beauty in its folds
A beautiful bud to fill your mind
Leaving all sorrow and pain behind

Silky petals, fragrance sweet
What joy abounds when these two meet?
Time and space cannot contain
Nor any love could e'er refrain

"Forget Me Not!" this rose will cry
If ever your lips dare let a sigh.
For this, a rose, I give to you
Whose memory does not say, "Adieu."
