Our Book
Each of us is writing a book of our Life.
Each day we write a new page.
Will it be completed in the youth of life?
Or will it continue till we've reached old age?
What will we place in the book we're writing?
Will it be something that's noble and pure?
Or will it be things that cannot endure?
Will we let Jesus show us the way?
To put things that are worthy and good
As we come to write each page each day.
That when it's written it will say what it should.
Will the pages be filled with compassion and love,
Because we've been willing to be guided
By faith, hope, and courage from above.
Or will it be closed with many things undecided?
Lord we are depending on you to help us write pages in our book from day to day.
That are filled with things that point to the light.
That will benefit others along the way.
Lord help us as we write.
Our book would not be filled by violence and strife.
And when our book is finished on the final day,
"Well done" is what we would hear the Master say.
